I created the original skull as a prototype for my "After Life" painting.
Solid Concepts in Valencia, CA, printed the original sculpture Sold in 2022, created using Maya 3D software. I am using the same digital file to create this limited edition of the original sculpture.
The material for the original skull printed in 2014 was SLS Nylon 12, and the original piece weighed close to that of a small bowling ball ~ 9 pounds, so it was quite a solid piece. I finished it with an undercoat of Montana Gold Shock Pink Light and then my favorite oil paint, Luminous Opera Pink Aqua Oil, and sealed it with varnish.
THIS PIECE will be an edition of 10/10 of the original 3D printed sculpture at a slightly smaller size of 4 x 5 x 5 inches
